We are a small home-based business located in the Adelaide Hills, we do not have a shop front or pre-made cakes ready to pick up. All of our cakes & desserts need to be pre-ordered through the website and full payment is required before pick up.
Ordering through our website is the best way to prevent any misunderstanding, quick and easy to communicate. Once we receive your order we will respond with basic questions, to gather further information. When we have enough information we will send you a quote. If you are happy with everything we will send you an invoice with all the relevant information.
We require a $50 booking fee ($100 for weddings and other large orders) before the order is confirmed. Any cancellation must be made with at least 3 weeks notice for a full refund. Strictly no refund for any cancellation made with less than 3 weeks to go. If any special tools and equipment have already purchased for that order they will be charged for. e.g. a specific shaped cake tin, or special ingredients based upon your request etc. These will be clearly stated in the invoice before the booking fee is paid.
The remaining balance will need to be paid 2 weeks before pick up/delivery date.
Payment can be made via bank transfer or in cash on pickup/delivery, sorry no EFTPOS or Credit Card Facilities are available.
Please understand our refund policy is strict. We aim to create the best cake for each of you, and we can only take limited orders in a certain period of time. Cancellation means we may have missed the chance to create a cake for someone who was looking forward to it.
We make sure that we don’t take too many orders so we can put 100% into every cake we create. We are usually booked out 6 weeks ahead of time.
Ideally, wedding cakes should be ordered at least 4-6 months in advance, other celebrations should allow 6-8 weeks notice to be sure you can book a spot just in case we are busy.
However we try our best to accommodate last minute orders if possible, please note that any orders with under 2 weeks notice will incur a short notice fee.

We don’t provide cake tastings for our cakes. However, occasionally we will create a random cake tasting box sales with a mixture of 3-4 flavours through our Facebook & Instagram @bloominghillscake, so keep an eye on these if you wish to taste a few different styles at once. Please feel free to contact us if you want to be on the tasting box waiting list so we can contact you when it becomes available – These boxes sell out very fast !
We will try our best to help where possible, please let us know ASAP if you need to change anything.
Orders can be picked up from our location in Littlehampton, SA, 5250 (Near Hahndorf/Mount Barker), or we also offer a delivery service within 15km of Littlehampton (extra charges apply $20-95 depending on location, size of the order), this includes meet up locations if you live further away. If for example, you are coming up from Adelaide we can organise to meet you in Crafers (roughly 15km from Littlehampton), or if you are coming from Gawler or Kersbrook we can meet up in Lenswood or Woodside. All of our cakes are packaged and ready for pick up or delivery in a box, they are also placed on a cake board usually 2” larger than the diameter of the cake for easy carrying. During Transportation, please keep the cake as cool as possible and on a flat surface, e.g. the boot or the floor of the car. A non-slip mat is essential for large/tier cakes to prevent movement during transport.
Please note: We are not liable for any damage done to your cake once it is handed over to you and leaves our kitchen.
Each flower cake is unique, designed and created from scratch with each order. We do some research on the colour and flower styles before we start making. Each buttercream is hand made to different consistencies to match the type of flower required.
We only use natural food colours to make our colourful creams, these are not quite as vibrant as food colouring, but they don’t have any nasties. Each petal is individually piped to make a flower, and then carefully arranged on the cake.
This process takes a lot of time and care to make the perfect cake. It may just be a cake to someone, but to us, each cake is a work of art.
Unfortunately we do not make licensed logo or character cakes due to copyright law. We understand a lot of children love a particular character, but we can’t, in good conscience use someone else’s intellectual property. It can be a very debatable and sensitive issue among cake decorators, but our stance is firm.
Simply put, if you are a parent who wants to make a “superman” logo cake, it is totally fine. But for us legally, we are not allowed to make any profit using licensed characters, symbols, logos or any part of an image without the creator’s permission. Because of this, we ask you to provide your own licensed toppers, decoration, or figurines. If you already have figurines/items that you would like to place on your cake, simply bring it to us two weeks before your event, so they can be assessed before putting on the cake. This way if there is something that needs to be done to them we will have time to sort it out.
With that said we can still create a cake that will fit with the theme of the party, including similar elements to match in with any licensed toppers or decorations.
All of our products are GLUTEN FREE, Vegan friendly, Soy free and *Nut free *unless otherwise stated. We can also have refined sugar free options. We may be able to create beautiful, tasty cakes even if you have other allergies or dietary requirements (e.g. Fructose intolerance). However, we are unable to create Paleo or Keto friendly cakes, due to most of our cakes contain grain based flours.
Please let us know if you have a high gluten intolerance, or have multiple allergies.
All of our products are made from gluten free ingredients, and there are no gluten containing ingredients used in our kitchen. Our bakeware and tools are purchased and only used for gluten free & vegan baking.
However please be aware they are created in the same kitchen where traces of gluten/dairy/egg/nut products may be present (e.g. Shop bought items for our children that contain wheat, egg and dairy or gluten free ingredients purchased from a local health food store that may not be factory packaged).
We take our hygiene and your dietary requirements very seriously, between each creation, we make sure our tools, bakeware and equipment are clean to minimise the risk of cross contamination. Because of the bespoke nature of our business, our products are not tested for gluten.
Due to the nature of our business, we cannot in good conscience use bulk pre-mixes. Many of these factory-made cake mixes contain one or more allergy triggering ingredient. (e.g. Egg, Milk, Soy, Nut, Wheat, as well as unknown numbered additives).
We don’t supply candles & toppers as it is a lot easier for you to chose what you are exactly after. Please google & shop around – feel free to deliver straight to us to save time.
If you already organized something – other cake decorations should be brought to us two weeks before your event, so they can be assessed before putting on the cake. This way if there is something that needs to be done to make them fit we will have time to sort it out.
Please note: We reserve the right not to place any decorations provided by the customer if we feel it is a hazard or will cause damage to your cake. We will contact you if this issue arises.
We can organise packaging upon request. e.g. individual cupcake boxes. This will require advanced notice and is also subject to availability.
Before the celebration, It is best to pick up your cake on the day of the celebration and store in the fridge.
Please keep your cake refrigerated (up to 48hours) and in the freezer for leftovers. It is best to consume as soon as possible as cake texture and flavour will change very fast in the fridge, due to the nature of additive and gluten free ingredients.
While serving, ganache and buttercream will tend to stick to the knife when cutting your cake, making it difficult to get nice clean slices. To achieve clean cuts (and the maximum number of serves), use a sharp (not serrated) knife, dipped in hot water and wiped dry before each cut.

Unfortunately we are unable to arrange fresh flowers due to food safety reasons.
We are more than happy to supply you a fully iced cake according to your design request, please talk to your florist about which flowers are safe to use on cakes, as not all flowers are appropriate for cake decoration. Some flowers are naturally toxic for consumption and others are inappropriate because of pesticide use.
